Review: HARDCANDY, N.Y.C., REVLON, & MAYBELLINE

Alright, alright! Time for a review

Recently I've been buying a lot more drugstore products.  Believe I used to be ne that said, "oh to have flawless looking skin, you HAVE to buy expensive makeup".  Well, no, not true. In the past I have spent hundreds of dollars on high-end product and like I've mentioned before some were a total waste of money. Now that I have been trying out things from Walgreens, Target, Walmart and many other stores, I have come to find that there's great, absolutely great less expensive products.

So this review is on just a few I picked up these past two weeks.

• HARD CANDY: SHADOW DANCERS these are duo eyeshadow tubes. Each end is a different color, nice colors at that. When you unscrew them, they come with a wand that looks similar to a lipgloss wand. They go on wet then turn to powder. Good pigmentation, only problem is they dry quick so you don't have much time to blend. I would definitely use fingertip and dab to blend when applying this. 

PROS: great pigment, nice bright colors   CONS: hard to blend

• N.Y.C. NEW YORK: COLOR SPARKLE EYE DUST these are like NYX and MAC's Pigments. Nice colors, I wish they had some brighter ones though. Maybe they do, but I only saw what the store had in stock. You can apply them with a wet or dry synthetic brush. They are pretty pigmented. Still playing with them to see if they're as good as NYX and MAC. 

PROS: great pigments, very easy to apply   CONS: non at the moment

• REVLON: PHOTOREADY CONCEALER these come in a stick that looks like lipstick. They have real good coverage without looking cakey or chalky and blend nicely. I have said in the past that concealers are not meant to be used underneath the eyes because they cause creases, but I test every concealer for this reason. So far I haven't notice this crease. So for all of you that are used to apply regular concealer under the eyes, this is one I would recommend. 

PROS: great coverage, blends nicely   CONS: want more variety colors (dark shades)

• MAYBELLINE CONCEALER this one, once again, comes in tube with a wand similar to lipgloss. I like to use it underneath the eyes over the REVLON concealer to give it some moisture. It blends so nice and reminds me of NARS concealer. Great buy!

PROS: blends so nice, smooth   CONS: want more colors (dark shades)
