Of course SPF is great for you and I do recommend protecting your skin, but on days that you know you will be taking pictures I would just skip it. Try looking for moisturizers and makeup without any SPF. I know many of today's products contain SPF but if you look around you can find some without.
You ask why does SPF do this? Well it's because most SPF contain Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide which are more of a white ingredient, that when light hits it you can really see it. Makeup Powders with SPF aren't really a problem like liquid foundations. So lets just say you don't want to go out and buy another foundation because you love the one you already have. One way of minimizing this flash back is by using color powders when setting your foundation. DO NOT is HD Powders when taking photos!!! HD Powders hate flashes and you will look so white.
So just remember skip the SPF products on photo days or make sure to use colored powder when setting your foundation.
Below I have listed a few foundations that I like and have used that are photo friendly:
- Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup
- Maybelline Dream Liquid Airbrush Finish
- Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse Foundation (I only use this a few times, wasn't my favorite because I feel like it makes my skin oily)
- MAC Full Coverage Foundation
Favorite setting powders:
- Make Up For Ever Super Matte Loose Powder
- Rimmel Stay Matte
Hope all this help you out. And if there's any other foundations that work and you'd like to share. Leave me a comment and I'll be sure to check it out.
I was so glad when Mara told me about this before my photo shoot. This is a great post
