Setting spray are mists that can be applied on to face before and after makeup applications. The purpose of them is to "set" your makeup so that is doesn't smudge, smear, or wear off. Gives it longevity, something we all want. Some of you may say, "we'll isn't that the purpose of a primer?" And the answer is yes, but the difference is the finish look. For a while the look everyone wanted was that glowy, shimmery look. Full of sparkle, glitter, anything that has shine we wanted. Well now everyone wants that "matte" look, but without looking chalky. This is where a setting spray comes in. The mist give you a bit of a shine without making it over powering or looking greasy, but also protecting your makeup from moving around.
ABOVE is a picture of two of my favorite.
- Urban Decay All Nighter is one I use for going out on weekends or to a nice party like a wedding. It is amazing! (Use after makeup)
- Urband Decay De Slick I tend to use on myself more and clients with skin that's more on the oily side. (Use before and after makeup application)
- Ive also used and like Model in a Bottle. (Use after makeup)
If you want to keep the "matte" look I have read that "Face Atelier Ultra Matte" will set and keep the look. I have not tried it personally but I do know that Atelier products are great, more on the pricey side but well worth it.
