Hi there, time for Hair!!!

Alright you asked about hair so let's talk "HAIR".

  • First off, to achieve good looking hair it all start with nutrition. You have to eat good foods. I'm not trying to tell you go get on a strict diet or anything but I do highly recommend eat some good healthy food choices. You know that food chart "food triangle" we see at nutrition places or dr office, yup it's there for a good reason. Not only does it control a good health balance for your body, but all those different foods also provide vitamins, minerals and nutrients our hair, skin and nails need. So stock up and eat things like eggs (yes including the yolk) great source of protein, blue berries (super fruit) great source of vitamins C which helps blood circulation in the scalp that helps the hair follicle, Greek yogurt contains vitamins D and B5 (B5 is panthothenic aci which is found in many hair products), and food with lots of iron (this helps hair stay strong so it doesn't break off).
  • Next is what we use daily, good H2O! We need this to survive in life, it's a MUST. But when it comes to hair there's certain ways to use it to benefit from it a lot more. When washing your hair try not to use hot water, it dries your hair out and pulls the moisture out. Hot water is bad for our body and hair. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my hot showers, so I was my hair at the end of my shower so I can turn the water to cool. If you use cool water to wash and condition your hair you "lock in" all the moisture, which is what we want to achieve :)
  • Shampoo and Conditioner hmmmm always a tough decision considering there's so many to choose from. From color, to volumizing, to moisturizing, to classic clean; finding the right one for you can be overwhelming. Even I have a tough time. For myself I like to use TRESemmé, not everyone's favorite but it does the job for me, so I have stuck with it for a few months now. Yes I have access to the professional hair products and I have used many and do love them, but I just go back to this. I use the TRESemmé 24HR Body Shampoo and Conditioner (volume pink label). The shampoo cleanses my hair nicely and the conditioner does not weigh my hair down. But talking about conditioning the way I apply it is never on my roots, I have good natural oils that if I put any condition on my scalp I will have oily hair. THAT'S SOMETHING NOBODY WANTS. I apply it from half way down my hair and pul it through the ends, leave it on for 2-3 minute and rinse.

  • Now products  I only use two different products on my hair (well hairspray too but only if needed). I use Argan Oil, (can be found at any Sally's Beauty Supply). Love this oil because it penetrates good into your hair without being greasy. Last year I gave myself the Ombré look and of course with bleaching hair as dark as mine it can sure damage and dry out your hair, so this has helped tremendously. All you need is a dime size, rub it in the palms of you hands until it gets warm and apply on tips and work it up, not into scalp though.  Then the other product is the TRESemmé Thermal Creation Mousse (red label). The way I use this is the way you use mousses that go directly into the roots. I part my hair half way from side to side (so I have a top and bottom section) and hold can up to my scalp and spray mousse all across the part. Then move up about 1.5" do the same process. When it comes to the top of my scalp I simply just spray on finger and massage it in.

  • Blow drying to achieve the most volume! MY FAVORITE! Not everyone knows how to round brush hair, more less their own hair. And as for me, being a mommy and not having much time for yourself I usually have to skip the round brush and use my little hands ;) so simply flip your hair over to the front and start blow drying from all angles. Run fingers through your hair as if you were brushing it. Do this until hair is completely dry. When you flip you hair back, DO NOT BE ALARMED, might look like Mufasa from The Lion King with your big'ol mane ;) but not to worry this is we're a wide tooth brush/comb comes in handy. Brush your hair to style it the way you want and it should calm down but you'll still have fabulous volume. Use your styling hot tools to either straighten or curl it to the style you'd like.

Well there you go, how to get great volumizing hair. If you have any other questions on how to do this feel free to ask. Also, if you'd like a list of the high-end products I'd recommend HOLLA @TheRealXio
